Missing Punch Indicators for Time Tracking
Nov, 11 2025
When employees forget to clock out, we previously auto-clocked them out after 12 hours and recorded those hours automatically. This made it difficult to catch missed punches before payroll processing, potentially leading to inaccurate time records.
Now, when an employee misses a clock-out punch, Eddy clearly marks it as "missing" throughout the system instead of recording inaccurate hours. You'll see visual indicators—including alert icons and warning messages—on timesheets, time tracking pages, and all time reports (Hours Worked, Hours Worked Summary, Hours by Day, and Hours by Pay Period).
Missing punches are excluded from hour totals until corrected, preventing payroll errors. Timesheets with missing punches cannot be approved until the issue is resolved, ensuring complete accuracy before processing. Managers can quickly identify and address missing punches through prominent alerts and tooltips that guide them to add the correct clock-out time.
This enhancement gives you better control over time tracking accuracy, reduces payroll corrections, and helps employees develop better clocking habits by making missed punches immediately visible rather than automatically filling in potentially incorrect hours.
