Hide a worker
Jun, 14 2026
What's new
Some workers are in Eddy mainly for payroll purposes — like family members added for tax advantages, or contractors who don't participate in the broader team experience. You can now hide these workers so they don't appear in places where they'd add noise for the rest of your team.
How to hide a worker
From the 3-dot menu on any employee or 1099 contractor's profile, HR admins can select Hide this person. A confirmation dialog explains what will change before you confirm.
What hiding does
When a worker is hidden, they're removed from:
- The team view of the employee directory (desktop and mobile)
- Home page birthday and anniversary celebrations
What stays the same
Hidden workers continue to appear in admin areas tied to their work and pay:
- Who's out calendar, Shifts, Payroll, Reports, and Trainings
- Their manager relationship
- Time tracking and PTO (admins can still add hidden workers to both)
Admin and manager visibility
Hidden workers still show up in the admin and manager view of the directory, marked with a hidden icon and tooltip — so it's clear who's been hidden without losing track of them.
Unhiding a worker
To restore a hidden worker, open the 3-dot menu on their profile and select Unhide this person. A confirmation dialog explains that they'll reappear in the directory and celebrations.
