Wuloma is an HR generalist who currently serves as the Head of Human Resources for a mining firm where she oversees the overall Human resource management of the organization. Her job roles include but are not limited to the capacity to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy. Some of her responsibilities are to recruit, conduct interviews, hire and train new staff in the department. She oversees the daily workflow of the department, provide constructive and timely performance evaluations and handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Join a community of professionals like yourself and gain as much knowledge as you can. HR is not something you can do alone.
