Tia is an HRBP with a collaborative, empathetic, service-oriented approach. After serving as a retail leader for various large retailers, Tia’s passion for people and proceses transferred into her first HR role: Talent Acquisition. Some years a variety of HR roles later, Tia serves as an HRBP for a growing HR Consulting and HCM Implementation company. Tia considers herself a “Talent enthusiast” with an interest in building and retaining the most effective and efficient workforces possible. Tia’s desire for driving results, establishing New Hire processes, providing an exceptional candidate and client experience, and exceeding KPI goals has transferred flawlessly in various client-facing roles.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Be yourself! Tap into those soft skills (empathy, willingness to help, flexibility, adaptability, etc.) and place them in the forefront as you gain your footing in the HR field. Although you are learning, there are LOTS of opportunities from leadership and peers to learn from you. Technical skills are always teachable, so long as you’re willing to be taught. Always be willing to learn and to teach when your time comes. Enjoy the ride!
