Working my way thru school and Majored in Psychology and worked with the trade unions as organizer and paralegal. I've experienced and observed both sides of the employment coin (employer and employee). I'm slowly transitioning into my lifelong dream of sustainable agriculture but still involved a corporate collaboration with friends I am obliged to stay in the HR arena to ensure the harmonious rapport between staff and the company.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Observe everything from a third person point of view and give rational solutions to every situation. You are not the referee, you're an audience with an eye of a critique seeing all angles of the game in order to come up with sound options on how to improve the outcome.
