Melissa Ceballos is the Director of Talent and Business Acquisition at Elevated Retirement Group. Melissa has over 20 years’ experience in roles involving HR/Talent Acquisition, Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. Prior to moving to the financial services industry, Melissa spent 19 years with a Global Transportation company. Today, Melissa works with HR Professionals and businesses to consult on financial wellness and retirement education programs across the state of Utah. She has spent over half a decade researching the needs and gaps with employee financial wellness and retirement preparedness to help organizations develop and implement the proper tools, resources, and education to ensure employees are financially confident to be productive and prosperous employees. Melissa is currently the President of Salt Lake SHRM and has a passion to help people and to equip HR Professionals with the necessary tools and resources to be true business partners. In her spare time, she is a career coach for the University of Utah Alumni Association and Waldron HR.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Having a passion to help people is essential! HR is the glue that holds organizations together. Understand how to navigate your HR role to serve the people that mutually benefits talent, customers, and the business. Always have the buy-in of your leaders to drive necessary change!
