Maddie’s professional experience spans over 20 years in Human Resources including Employee Relations, Leadership Coaching, Talent Management, Talent Development, and general oversight of the Human Resources function. She is currently the head of Human Resources for a multi-unit Financial Services company with locations throughout the state of Georgia. Maddie believes in contributing to the business partnership through innovative recommendations, providing executable candid and empathetic feedback aligned with the company’s strategy in order to effectively impact the bottom line. Maddie is the creator and founding contributor of the site www.hrdeptof1.com and the "Get There with You" business philosophy. Maddie has served in leadership roles in her local Association for Talent Development Chapter (ATD Chattanooga) for several years most recently as President in 2020 and 2021. In her spare time, Maddie enjoys crafting, volunteering, spending time with her husband, and of course, her cat Charcoal.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Find ways to "Get There With" your executives, managers, peers, and employees you support. Come from a place of collaboration regardless who gets the credit.
