Kristina E. Cox
Kristina is a HR Generalist most recently employed at a small government agency. She was served on an interagency committee, collaborating with other professionals to craft Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies for the State of Washington. Kristina also helped implement those policies at her own agency and promoted training around DEI and avoiding implicit bias. Kristina was part of an internal process improvement group that developed training on accessibility for new employee onboarding. She brings a human centered focus to the work she does, and strives to provide the best customer service possible to her business partners and colleagues.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
HR has so many aspects from labor relations, to recruiting, risk management, and personnel development. I would encourage individuals just starting out to explore career options, shadow a HR professional, gain experience through an internship, or conduct an informational interview.
