Heather is an HR professional with 15+ years of customer service experience and extensive experience in Workforce Management for contact centers, charged with the creation of business forecasting and scheduling for up to 650 employees. As well as considerable experience in data management and analysis. Her HR experience includes managing Team Relations issues both on-site and remotely, conducting new hire onboarding, managing the HRIS system, assistance with open enrollment, benefits questions, business scheduling, office management, Workers Compensation claims, and monthly invoicing.

What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?

DO it! This is a mid-life career change for me and I’m happier than I’ve been in years! It is SO worth the additional work you may have to put in initially.

Reneging

Perhaps you’ve had this happen to you: a candidate spends many hours convincing you that they are dependable, reliable, and exactly what you are looking for, and then leaves you and your organization high and dry when you offer them the position. This is reneging, and we must understand why it happens in order to prevent it and respond appropriately.
