Cody Jacobson
Cody has chosen HR as his craft since the outset of his career, and he hasn't looked back since. He's spent most of his profession as an HR Generalist, yet is keen to continue learning a little bit about everything. Cody has experience partnering with business leaders on the front lines, as well as guiding company-wide strategic initiatives through successful implementation. Outside of work, Cody is a dedicated family man! He loves spending time with his family and friends, bonding through play. Cody also has a penchant for numismatics, an obsession with retro collectibles, and a healthy fandom for Marvel. Cody received both of his degrees from Brigham Young University: his Bachelor's (HR Management) in 2016, and his MBA (Strategic HR) in 2023
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Slow down and take the time to understand how your business works, the day-to-day work that the managers, employees, and leaders perform every day. This will greatly educate you, and make you relevant when you offer them support; you'll also have earned their trust by spending time on their side.
