Chelsea is an HR consultant, specializing in internal investigations and employee relations. She recently graduated from the BYU Marriott School of Business with a degree in Human Resource Management. There, she was a four-year member of SHRM and served as the chapter president. What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?

I would highly recommend building relationships with the leaders you support. When they trust you as their HR partner, they will be more inclined to trust your judgment when serious matters arise. Additionally, they will be more prone to communicate well with you, keep you looped in on high-priority issues, understand necessary legal and compliance actions, and maybe even provide that documentation you beg for. 😉

Sabbatical Leave
