Perhaps you’ve had this happen to you: a candidate spends many hours convincing you that they are dependable, reliable, and exactly what you are looking for, and then leaves you and your organization high and dry when you offer them the position. This is reneging, and we must understand why it happens in order to prevent it and respond appropriately.
I am currently enrolled in college for a bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources. I plan to obtain my master’s degree in Human Resources in the future. I am currently the Director of Student Relations for the SHRM Chapter Directive at my school.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Human Resources is incredibly rewarding. I love that I get to make connections with staff and encourage them to shoot for the stars!
