Brian is the Director of Human Resources for a large social services agency, focused on foster care and adoption. A true generalist at heart, Brian has done a little bit of everything in HR. Before moving to the nonprofit sector, Brian spent time at Target Corporation working as a stores HR, District HR Resource, Distribution HRBP, and then supporting over 30 automotive dealership in a Regional HR role.
What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Remember to always listen more than you talk. There are two sides to every story, but the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Be quick to admit your mistakes and sharing your learnings because you earn more creditably with that then you ever will by being flawless.
