What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?

Be open to anything and all that you might be presented with. Human resources is not always writing policies or running detailed reports to analyze. At times it is scanning files and data entry. When you are faced with task that feel as though you are not "HR" remember everything is "HR". You are still serving your internal customer and that is what we as HR professionals are in the business of doing.
