What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?

What I wish I knew when I graduated with my BBA in HR and was just getting started in the "real world:" sign up for SHRM and your local HR Associations and keep abreast of the trending topics. LinkedIn is a great resource to expand your network, learn from each other and share job opportunities. It is difficult to get started in HR, but don't give up!
