What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
1) You’re never going to know anything so don’t feel pressured to do so. Laws and regulations are constantly changing so it is okay to say to someone that you’ll look into an HR question further. 2)If you have another HR colleague or friend that you can trust, lean on them for support. Run situations by them to get their perspective. Sometimes they can see things that we don’t see on our own. Don’t be ashamed to rely on sources for help.
