What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
My words of encouragement to anyone just starting in HR is to try everything! Human resources is a vast industry compromised of many facets (compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational development, etc.). There will be some facets that you find you are more passionate about than others, but you never know until you try! It took me 4 of my 6 years in the industry to find my niche, and I now love going to work every day. An open mind in HR will allow you to find the area in which you can help the most people, which is why I am so thankful for all HR partners!
