What words of advice and encouragement would you give to someone just starting out in HR?
Understand your worth and that you matter! This just isn't for HR folks, but everyone. From traditional HR perspective, HR is seen as an enforcer, compliant driven, cold. Don't be that! If an organization, group, team, club demand that you can't be vulnerable, authentic, and transparent - run fast, and run far! True leadership requires all of those, and more!
